👇 This is THAT kids summer camp 👇

10-16 Hours of Spanish Classes Every Week

Here’s what this isn’t: endless grammar worksheets or boring drills that make kids lose interest.

Here’s what it is: fun, engaging Spanish woven into every day. Native instructors guide kids through interactive lessons and real-life practice so they actually use the language in conversations and activities.

It’s about chatting with friends, joining in games, and having fun while exploring Costa Rica’s beauty.

Pre-K 30 hrs/week immersion daycare.

Elementary 10 hrs/week classes.

Middle School 16 hrs/week classes.

Hands-On Creative & Cultural Activities

Every week, kids dive into activities that connect them with the culture of Costa Rica while keeping Spanish fun and practical.

One day they might be cooking a local recipe with friends. The next, painting, making crafts, or playing traditional games. Every project is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and give kids new ways to practice their Spanish without even realizing they’re learning.

These experiences go beyond the classroom, giving kids stories, skills, and creations they’ll bring home and remember long after summer ends.

Adventure Kids Look Forward to Every Week

One week it might be a nature hike or a trip to the farm. The next, it could be exploring the beach or discovering the estuary by boat.

Every week brings a new activity that gets kids moving, learning, and building confidence through hands-on experiences they’ll never forget.

And the best part? It’s not just about the adventure. It’s about the stories they bring home, the Spanish they practice along the way, and the friendships that grow stronger with every outing.

Surf Lessons at One of the Best Beaches In the World

It doesn’t matter if your kids have never touched a board before. Every session is about building confidence, getting outside their comfort zone, and doing something they’ll actually remember.

Once a week, kids ages 5–13 paddle out at Playa Tamarindo, one of the top surf spots in the world, guided by certified instructors who know how to keep things safe and fun.

The water’s warm, the waves are gentle, and the beach is pure Costa Rica. No sharp rocks. No stress. Just smiles, splashes, and the thrill of riding a wave.

And yes, surfboards are included 😉

A Safe, Supportive

Home Away From Home

A Safe, Supportive Place for Kids to Grow

Parents can relax knowing their kids are in a secure, structured environment designed for fun and learning.

Camp days run from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with shuttle pickup and drop-off available in Tamarindo. Kids spend their time with bilingual teachers and counselors who guide them through activities, keep things organized, and make sure every camper feels included.

From Spanish lessons and creative projects to outdoor play, field trips, and surf, everything is supervised with safety as the top priority. Snacks and lunch are provided daily, so parents know their kids are cared for every step of the way.

For you, it means peace of mind.

For kids, it feels like summer freedom in the safest possible hands.

Worried About Safety? You should be.

That’s Why

We Obsess Over It

We understand. You’re not just signing your kids up for an adventure. You’re putting their well-being in someone else’s hands.

That’s a big deal. And we treat it like one.

Our camp follows a strict safety-first policy. There’s 24/7 supervision, bilingual staff trained in child care and emergency protocols, and all activities are run by trusted, vetted local partners. No off-site trips without permission.

The camp site is gated and quiet, just outside of town, and provides private transportation. We keep parents updated, kids supported, and the focus where it belongs: Learning, growing, and staying safe while doing it.

Why This Camp Is One of the Best Decisions You’ll Make for Your Kids:

Because summers should mean something.

Not wasted on screens. Not stuck in the same routine.

This camp gives your kids an experience they’ll remember and skills that will last.

They’ll learn Spanish by actually using it. Cooking. Creating. Playing. Exploring. Surfing.

Every activity is designed to keep them engaged, excited, and growing.

They’ll come home more confident. Happier.

With new friends, new stories, and a new love for learning.

This isn’t just a camp. It’s a summer that can shape who they become.

And the truth is, you don’t get many summers like this.

What's Included?

More than lessons. More than activities.

A summer where kids discover their voice in Spanish,

find confidence in themselves, and create memories they will carry for life.

When parents talk about this camp, they talk about growth. Not just in language, but in mindset. They watched their kids come home excited to share what they learned, more self-assured, and suddenly full of perspective. These aren’t just happy campers.

They’re young people who got a taste of something real, and it shows.

"My two sons spent 2 weeks at the Exploranatura surf-Spanish-excursion camp summer of 2023. It was a great experience!"

The camp included food (good food!), housing in a comfortable air conditioned group house, surfing every weekday, and awesome excursions around northwestern Costa Rica - hiking to waterfalls, horseback riding, and ziplining were highlights. There's never a dull day, the kids were really nice, the staff was helpful and caring. All in all a great value and a ton of fun!

I highly recommend to anyone traveling to Tamarindo.

"Our kids did two weeks of camp and had a great time. "

They learned quite a bit of Spanish while doing fun activities like learning to surf and ziplining. They were a little nervous at first, but the staff were encouraging and friendly. Now they want to do it again. We also really appreciated the concierge service for doing extra activities on the weekend.

Kids Summer Camp

Frequently Asked Questions

Choosing the right summer camp for your kids is a big decision, and you deserve to feel completely confident before you do. Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions parents ask about the program, daily routines, safety, logistics, and everything in between.

What are the age groups for the Children's Camps?

Our Children's Camps cater to kids aged 3 to 13, organized into three age groups:

Pre-K (ages 3-5): Young children enjoy 6 hours of immersive Spanish daycare filled with playful learning, songs, and creative activities.

Elementary School (ages 5-10): Kids in this age range have structured Spanish lessons blended with outdoor games, hands-on activities, and cultural experiences.

Middle School (ages 11-13): This group experiences a mix of Spanish language classes and adventurous outdoor activities to reinforce their learning.

How can we find accommodations near the camp?

Our concierge service has years of experience assisting families in finding the perfect accommodations for their stay. We work closely with local property managers to ensure you have access to the best options based on location, amenities, and family needs. Whether you're looking for a beachfront apartment or a quiet home near town, we know the options that best suit families. Of course, if you prefer to explore independently, platforms like Airbnb, VRBO, and local rental sites in Tamarindo are also excellent resources.

Are there activities for kids after 2:00 p.m.?

Yes! For families interested in extending the fun, we offer additional activities for kids after regular camp hours. Options include:

Additional Spanish Lessons: 1-2 hour sessions from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., based on availability, allowing kids to continue learning Spanish in an engaging environment.

Surf Lessons:

Experience Tamarindo's world-class waves with professional instructors. Surf sessions are available throughout the week, adjusted according to the tides. Kids should bring sunblock, a towel, and swimwear.

Babysitting Services:

For parents needing extra time, we provide safe, caring babysitting services by the hour, any day of the week, based on availability.

Spanish Cooking Lessons:

A fun and interactive babysitting option where kids enjoy a hands-on Costa Rican cooking class while being safely supervised.

How do you ensure my kids's safety while they're in Costa Rica?

Safety is our top priority. From the moment campers arrive, they’re under the care of experienced, background-checked staff trained in emergency procedures. We partner only with certified local providers for tours and activities, and we maintain a strict 24/7 supervision policy. Our accommodations are secure and monitored, and we follow a comprehensive safety-first policy that includes health check protocols and emergency response plans.

Can my kids still participate if they’ve never surfed before?

Yes! Most of our students are brand new to surfing. Lessons are taught by trained local instructors at one of the world’s top beginner-friendly beaches. With soft sand, warm waters, and no rocky hazards, it’s the perfect place to learn. Boards are included, and every session builds confidence and coordination.

What happens if my kid gets sick or injured during camp?

We have access to top-rated medical clinics and hospitals nearby and staff trained in first aid. If your teen needs medical care, we will notify you immediately and accompany them through every step of the process. We also strongly recommend that all campers have international travel insurance.

Do kids need to know Spanish before attending?

Not at all. Beginners, intermediate learners, and advanced speakers are all welcome. Kids are grouped by level so every child feels challenged but supported.

Where is the camp located?

The camp takes place in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. It’s a safe, family-friendly beach town, and shuttle pickup and drop-off are available locally.

What are the camp hours?

Camp runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Families drop off in the morning and pick up in the afternoon (or use the shuttle service).

Is food provided?

Yes. Every camper receives a daily snack and lunch, included in the program cost.

How are kids supervised?

Safety is our top priority. Bilingual teachers and counselors supervise all activities, and off-site field trips are run by trusted, vetted local partners.
We maintain a 5:1 camper-to-staff ratio to ensure safety and support. All water activities have lifeguards, and our staff is trained for emergency situations.

What does a typical day look like?

Each day balances Spanish lessons, creative projects, outdoor play, and group activities. Every week also includes a surf lesson (ages 5–13) and a field trip or adventure for Elementary and Middle School campers.

Can I work remotely while my child attends camp?

Absolutely. Many parents work remotely, taking advantage of reliable Wi-Fi and the tranquil environment. You'll have the flexibility to plan your day around your child's camp activities, joining local excursions or simply relaxing in between work hours.

What should my kids bring to camp?

A hat, sunscreen, water bottle, swimsuit, towel, and comfortable clothes for outdoor activities. We’ll send families a detailed packing list before camp begins.

How is Spanish taught at camp?

Through interactive lessons and real-life practice. Kids learn while cooking, crafting, playing games, exploring, and socializing — not just sitting in a classroom.

How does transportation work between Tamarindo and the Camp?

We provide a daily shuttle bus service.

- Morning pick-up: 7:40 a.m. at Ali’s Treehouse Preschool in Tamarindo.

- Drop-off: 2:00 p.m. at the same location.

Children under 6 must bring their own car seat.

There will be additional transportations options for those participating in after-camp services*

How do you ensure safety at the pool and beach?

Pool Days:

- Always a professional lifeguard on duty.

- Full supervision from all teachers (ratio of 1 teacher per 5 children), with some teachers inside the water and others around the pool deck.

- The pool is divided into three clear sections:

1. Deep End – completely off-limits for all campers.

2. Middle Section – reserved for confident swimmers.

3. Shallow End – for younger children or those with little swimming experience.

- Children are placed in the section that matches their swimming ability, and non-swimmers and little children remain only in the shallow end.

Beach Days:

Lifeguard present, teachers supervising closely, and children split into groups: only sand play, shallow water, or slightly deeper water for confident swimmers.

Surf Lessons:

1 instructor per 2 children, plus supervision from all teachers, in a calm beginner-friendly section of Playa Tamarindo
